How to order the list of accredited ETEBAC5 products?

You can get it from the following page : Complete information - PeSIT-Etebac5.

Are there any PeSIT training sessions scheduled in the near future and how does one sign up for them or are there approved establishments that provide such training?

The GSIT does not provide PeSIT training. There is no GSIT-approved establishment in this regard, nor any establishment known to the GSIT that provides training in this subject. If necessary, the GSIT could consider special training, the provisions of which (content, duration, cost) would have to be set with the potential customer.

Is it possible to use the ETEBAC 3 protocol over TCP/IP? If yes, how does one obtain the specifications? or how to contact companies that have already developed it?

The GSIT only looks after ETEBAC5. ETEBAC3 is the responsibility of the CFONB e-business EDI Pole of the Banks-Customers Exchanges group.

The PeSIT and ETEBAC5 protocols can be accredited for TCP/IP. Is their usage on a TCP/IP network rather that X25 not recommended by the GSIT?

PeSIT and ETEBAC5 protocols can be accredited for TCP/IP. The GSIT makes no recommendation for or against anything. We note that TCP/IP is tending to replace X25 and that its operating costs are generally lower...

We have to carry out file exchanges with a partner who uses the PeSIT E protocol. We use machines that run on Windows 98-2000-XP. What are the steps for using this protocol (software, connection type, etc..)? What are the hardware constraints? Must one necessarily use a Numéris X25 connection or can one use TCPIP? Where can one obtain the necessary software?

Several vendors sell file transfer software programs that include the PeSIT E protocol. For information, you will find a list in the GSIT documents that indicate the PeSIT or ETEBAC5 approvals. Most of the products work either with X25 or TCP/IP. The vendors will inform you regarding the constraints (operating systems, hardware, telecommunications) of their products.

Can the PeSIT protocol be used on TCP/IP (and not X32) to transfer national health insurance from hospitals to the national health insurance offices?

The PeSIT protocol over TCP/IP has been usable since 1995 and has been, effectively used by GSIT and the banks connected to the SIT network since 1996. However, you must verify that the server with which you wish to connect using PeSIT over TCP/IP will accept this connection mode instead of the “legacy” X 25 connection.

Where to find the specifications of the vertical / horizontal / mixed compression algorithms used as part of the PeSIT?

Such information can be found in the PeSIT Specifications documents, version E (July 1989), pages A-2 to A-4.

How to obtain ETEBAC5 D9 cards?

ETEBAC5 cards are distributed by the Groupement des Cartes Bancaires “CB". These cards are sold by the EIG to the member banks of the ETEBAC5 system (membership managed by CFONB). If you are not a system member and do not wish to become one, you can purchase your cards from a colleague that is already a member (almost all main French banks).

Can ETEBAC 3 files be used in with the software that send using ETEBAC5?

ETEBAC5 is independent of the format and content of the files that it carries. Thus, files issued from an ETEBAC 3 ERP should be able to be transported using the ETEBAC5 protocol. It remains to be seen whether these files will be accepted by the application services of the banks using ETEBAC5 as the transport protocol

Will using ETEBAC5 with an IP connection via Internet offer as high a “security” level as via Transpac?

Yes, ETEBAC security is the same irrespective of the medium.
