
Mission
The GSIT is an Economic Interest Grouping governed by decree 67-821
of 23 September 1967, relative to EIGs and codified in articles L.
251-1 and subsequent of the Commerce Code.
A the service of
credit and financial institutions, the GSIT:
- is responsible for developing and operating the Interbank
Teleclearing System (SIT),
- keeps the SIT operating smoothly in technical and banking terms
and in security matters, while optimizing costs, in order to provide
the highest standards of service to user banks,
- plays an active role in French financial community
bodies.
The GSIT is a decision-making and consultation body
that notably participates in the definition of rules, both on
standardisation or operational levels, and in terms of security and
safety running. Every day, it works at the service of
French interbancarity and in
collaboration with the profession’s banking standardisation bodies.
